Adidas has released Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard’s fourth signature sneaker, the Dame 4.
The sneaker features a mesh upper for more breathability and a BOUNCE midsole for more comfort and flexibility. The rubber outsole features an intricate wave-like pattern inspired by the passage of time.
The shoe design includes details that pay homage to Lillard’s personality and basketball career. The numerous grooves on where the midsole and outsole converge reflect his love for hip-hop and represent the sound waves produced when recording music.
A set of numbers are lined up on the tongue, each representing specific moments in his career. NBA fans might recognize two numbers in particular: 6 and 0.9. The former represents his selection in the 2012 NBA Draft. The latter represents the time remaining when he hit a game-winning buzzer-beater that sent the Houston Rockets home during the 2014 NBA Playoffs.
