Budweiser introduced in May its newest Reserve member, the Freedom Reserve Red Lager. Building on Budweiser’s mission on American veterans, a portion of the proceeds sold will be contributing to the Folds of Honor, a nonprofit working to provide scholarships to military families.
Carefully brewed by real veterans, the Freedom Reserve Lager has a richly toasted malt taste and is inspired by George Washington’s handwritten recipe from his personal military journal of 1757. With a very smooth flavor of hops and molasses, the lager stands out from other American lagers that feature that herb-like bitter taste. Packaged in vintage, stubby bottles and one-pint cans, the edition is Budweiser’s second specialty lager in the Reserve Collection.
