Michelangelo’s Tuscan Villa

Once owned by the legendary Sistine Chapel painter Michelangelo, this breathtaking property located just outside of Florence can be yours. From 1540 until 1867, this house belonged to the Buonarroti family.

Orginally designed as a fort, its actual owner has carefully restored it by following its historical account. In fact, the original documents and deeds to the home are still kept in a good state.

The property includes an impressive amount of facilities. With eight bedrooms and seven baths in the main house and two extra bedrooms in the guest house, you could easily house around 20 people comforably. The outbuilding can be used as many things; an office, a party room, or a storage room.

Although the rooms of the house have been restored, some antique details are still present which add to the house an incredible charming touch. The kitchen in particular features the same structure for the chimney that was used centuries ago.

With an exterior of 6 acres, you can just about imagine the amount of green space it has. Around the house, you’ll find a beautiful oil mill along 200 olive trees. Besides this being the perfect Tuscan landscape, you may want to fully engage with the Italian rustic culture by producing your own Italian olive oil.
