Just like Field Notes is all about recapturing the old-school essence behind writing on pen and paper, this pocketbook set goes back to the small natural wonders that make autumn special. Before we had fashions, holidays, and flavors to associate with the end of summer, autumn was a season where golden lights were at their strongest.
There is something unique and beautiful about the way trees show their best face right before the semi-death of winter. Each one of the Autumn Trilogy designs seek to emboss the unique autumn hue of three quintessential American trees so that you can carry their swan song with you during the months to come.
Each cover is made from smooth, velvety vellum, with the shape and vein patterns of a chosen leaf embossed on the cover. True to the Field Notes brand, all notebooks were stitched with a Heidelberg Stitchmaster ST 270. The rounded corners and Soft White paper sheets provide a careful finish, and the ruled lines of each sheet at coordinated with the cover’s signature color.
This edition includes:
- A “Warm Red” notebook inspired on the Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) leaf
- A “Safety Yellow” notebook, which replicated the luminosity of the American Oak (Ulmus Americana)
- A “Scarlet” notebook, with the radiance of the Scarlet Oak (Quercus coccinea)
The dyes for each color have been specially formulated and blended by expert die makers to ensure they bring out the subtleties of each leaf’s realistic design.
