The Leica S3 is appropriately being offered on the 10th Anniversary of the Leica S2 release. Many of the characteristics featured on the S3 are borrowed from its predecessors, including the Leica ProFormat, exclusive only to the Leica S-System. However, it has plenty of appealing features on its own.
Resolution has been boosted to 64 megapixels, from the previous 37.5, and the larger sensor offers 15 stops and an ISO setting that climbs all the way to 50,000. Suffice it to say, any possible combination of lighting situations will be easily handled with specs like this.
The SLR viewfinder is large enough to truly control your shot’s composure, and bright enough so that not a single detail will be missed. At three frames per second in continuous shooting mode, and an auto focus that is both fast and reliable, every detail of the shot will be preserved for all to see.
With regard to video quality, the Leica S3 offers not only full HD capture ability, but also the flagship opportunity to capture reels in 4K cinema resolution. Making still and video an exciting venture, the S3 will be available in the spring of 2019.
