In her eleven-year career, international pop star Rihanna has produced 8 top ten albums (with her last two hitting number one), 24 top ten singles, 11 number one singles, and 8 grammy awards.
Now, you can add “having a street named after her” to that long, ever-growing list.
Rihanna’s native country of Barbados (a small island in the Caribbean Sea) is naming a street in a town where the recording artist grew up after her. The nation’s ministry of tourism made the announcement on Friday.
The street, which is currently known as “Westbury New Road,” will be renamed “Rihanna Street” in a ceremony on November 30th in Rihanna’s home town of St. Michael.
Rihanna is expected to attend the ceremony, which will be taking place on “Barbados Independence Day.”
And with very few well known celebrities of note, this may not be the last honor Rihanna receives from her homeland.
