To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the world’s first moon landing, Omega introduced this stunning Apollo 11 commemorative Speedmaster. With this stunning makeover, Omega pays a worthy tribute to the historic mission with this meticulous re-design. Without fail, Omega delivers a genuinely excellent example of a beautiful watch. The 9:00 hour commemorates the groundbreaking feat, paying homage to astronaut Buzz Aldren. On the rear, a facsimile of Neil Armstrong’s footprint is encompassed by gold text reading, “one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” As expected, the watch features Omega’s premium Chronometer Calibre 3861 automatic movement. It’s a beautiful mechanical movement, and well-deserved for a watch of this significance. To commemorate the year of the moon landing, 1969, production of this exceptional timepiece will cease after 6,969 units are produced. The Omega commemorative Moonwatch will be available for a limited time, starting July of 2019.
