The GT-R has reached half a century and for this monumental milestone, Nissan is collaborating with Italdesign to produce a onetime prototype. Using the already phenomenal GT-R Nismo as a baseline, this special edition is packed full of additional treats and tweaks that elevate this already impressive car to the next level.
Aesthetically, everything looks to have been worked on, yet the original curves and edges of the GT-R remain true. The color scheme is a contrast of gray and gold, giving a futuristic and exciting visual. Up front, the bonnet slopes down in a more pronounced way and is bordered by large LED headlights. Further changes are found with the roof, which has been lowered by 54mm. The centre is lower, whilst the outside portions are raised slightly, again giving a unique look to this already gorgeous car.
Looking at the rear of the car, the iconic twin round taillights remain and now feature thin light rings with hollow centers. An adjustable rear spoiler completes the aggressive tone which is complimented with custom built 21 inch wheels.
Black Italian leather adorns the seats, with flashes of Alcantara employed as well, ensuring comfort and a tight, secure feel. The centre console has two carbon fibre finishes, as do the instrument panel and door linings. The gold theme continues inside, with a subtle accent on the aforementioned instrument panel and door linings and in addition, the switchgear.
Finally, the engine. It’s also had a tasty upgrade, having it’s already impressive power output from the 3.8L V6 raised to produce an incredible 710bhp and 575 foot pound of torque. This is thanks to the larger diameter GT3 turbos in place, which are supplemented by bigger intercoolers and heavier duty crankshaft, pistons and camshaft.
