You might remember that the Cafe Racer first made its debut in the early 1950s. No one can miss the frame style that is not only unique but highly recognizable as well. This gem came about, however, when a client requested a customized Cafe Racer that had elements of futuristic design, while maintaining that amazing retro look.
The RT was, at one time, a BMW original with 750cc models, a two-seat design, massive fairing and a windshield. In manufacturing this newest creation, however, all factory parts were stripped and replaced with pieces that were specifically handmade for the BMW R80 RT.
In place of the original tank, one was taken from a CB500. The leather seat is an Alcantra and the inverted forks were borrowed from a Suzuki GSXR SRAD. For all the futuristic leanings, the finishing touches include a two-in-one exhaust round, a brand new headlight, bar end blinkers and full-disc aluminum wheels with a matte black finish. The result is a bike that is as stylish, sleek and impressive as any we’ve seen.
