Ferrari’s 50th ever convertible is here as revealed at the 2018 Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach. It’s the most powerful V8 the Italian giant has ever produced, and the mid-mounted engine produces a whopping 710bhp and 568lb ft courtesy of some twin turbos affixed to the meaty V8. This results in a 0-60 time of 2.85 seconds and a top speed of 211mph, so it’s absolutely lightning quick.
Outside, the Ferrari is adorned with 20 inch forged alloys which have a 10 spoke aesthetic indicative of the Ferrari’s Berlinetta style rims. As an option, carbon fiber wheels can be selected which are 20% lighter than the stock forged ones.
Weight saving is paid attention to with the interior as well. Lightweight race-spec materials such as Alcantara and the aforementioned carbon fiber adorn much of the inside, including the seats and panels. Carpets too have also been stripped back, replaced with aluminum tread plates and strikingly, the door pulls are simple straps.
Keeping you on the road is the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, which can make you feel like a superhero with dramatic drifts when the time is right, or also reign you back, should a panicked steering correction occur.
Another well balanced and ferocious machine, the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider may well be one of the best convertibles to come out of the Italian factory.
